Electric vehicle servicing

Electric vehicle servicing is vehicle-specific: some makes and models need more checks than others, which can mean more time and cost. We don’t set the rules—the manufacturers do—and we follow their guidelines explicitly.

Our qualified IMI Level 3 & 4 PHEV, MHEV, hybrid & EV technicians know these cars inside out because we work on them every day. We focus on longevity and keeping your vehicle safe on the road, with services designed to keep the car reliable until the next service or MOT.

A service includes many checks that a standard MOT does not cover—for example: checking the auxiliary battery; checking brake fluid moisture content (with electronic braking systems you may not feel a problem through the pedal); using manufacturer-linked diagnostic equipment (it gives detail but not every answer—our technicians interpret what it means); and inspecting charging connectors for corrosion or dirt that could allow heat build-up and damage to electrical connectors.

Electric vehicle MOT

An MOT is a basic safety check against DVSA guidelines—it confirms the vehicle is safe at the time of test. Nothing is stripped for inspection. In general there is no practical difference between a standard ICE engine MOT and a PHEV, MHEV, hybrid or EV MOT.
